A Big Thankyou
Buddies on Board

The new crew are always given a safety talk when they get on board and that means the travel buddies as well!
So the buddies know what to do in an emergency, they decided to test one of the life rings.

Once the safety talk was over and all the travel buddies had settled in, there was time to relax for a while on deck.

It's always good fun to meet the new voyage crew that come on at the beginning of a voyage leg. This time it was even better for the travel buddies, because 4 new playmates came on for 10 days from Wyndham to Derby. And they even brought a couple of buddies of their own!
From left to right are: Hannah Stewart (10), Jacqui Coleman (8), Hannah Coleman (8), and Jack Stewart (6).

Dunstall takes a look around the chartroom and decides he'd like to find out more about navigation.
It's always a good idea to know where you are, Dunstall.

Minty must be a little nervous about the 'Abandon Ship' drill. He seems to be spending a lot of time hanging around the life rings!

Iain gives Reg a few tips on how the keep the helm steady, so the ship can stay on course.
What course are we steering, Reg?

Capt'n Burra wastes no time getting to know the most important person on the ship (apart from the captain), Melanie the cook!
So, have you found out what's for lunch, Capt'n Burra?

After all the excitement of coming on board the Windeward Bound, Hobo decides he needs a little nap.
Looks like a very comfortable bunk, Hobo!

Uh oh, who gave Victoria the knife?!
It doesn't look like she's interested in cutting up tomatoes either!
Everybody had better look out!

Victoria and Ducky show the new travel buddies, Chandler and Mitch, how to coil a line properly before putting it away.

Matt tries to be helpful and give Melanie the cook a hand with preparing lunch.
Good on you, Matt, but do you have to sit on the tomatoes?

Ready to drop the anchor, Ducky operates the brake to stop the anchor cable from running out too quickly, while Victoria stands by on the winch in case the anchor needs to be hauled up again.
